Our Founder
My name is Shaylee Metz-Farrell. I was born and raised in Wyoming and reside in Riverton, WY. My husband and I own 100 acres, and we currently have four horses: one donkey, one pony, one cow, 25+ chickens, six dogs, and three cats. We have two daughters and a baby boy on the way; our oldest is three, and our youngest is one. I established Diamonds and Twine Equine in 2019 as a horse boarding and events center. I breed horses, train horses, give riding lessons, perform equine bodywork and therapy, and help people find their dream horse and house/horse sit. I also work full-time as a secretary for an Irrigation District that supplies water to farmers and ranchers. My husband works for a heavy hauling company. I have six associate degrees, including an AAS in Horse Management, an AS in Horse Science, an AA in Prelegal, an AA in Criminal Justice, an AA in Psychology, and an AA in English. I have four certifications, including Equine Management, Equine Training, Teaching Riding, and CHA.
I was previously enrolled at the University of Wyoming, working towards my Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Psychology. I decided to change my degree and am currently working to achieve my Bachelors in Equine Studies through Post University. I am currently working on earning my WPRA (Women’s Pro Rodeo Association) permit/card in barrel racing and breakaway roping. I am the President of the Fremont County Fair Royalty Committee (this position also works with our Fair Board, Friends of Fair, and Wind River PRCA Round-Up Rodeo committee), Fremont County Event Center, and WABRA’s (Wyoming All Breed Racing Association) board and volunteer at various places or events in my free time.

Shaylee is a kind, caring, and trustworthy horse professional. She is knowledgeable and very responsive. Her facility is well cared for and she offers many different boarding options to make it very easy and convenient for people that have busy schedules. My horses’ needs are well met and individually catered to. Most importantly, my animals are SAFE! I’m very thankful for the care Shaylee provides and highly recommend her services. My horses will be going on “vacation” at Shaylee’s in the future!

Shaylee has been amazing to work with! My two OTTBs are coming along nicely with help from Shaylee! Her communication with myself and horses has been a breath of fresh air. She’s approachable and wants to help spread her knowledge. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a leg up (pun intended lol) in the equine world!

Shaylee picked up my horse Maximus yesterday for his training. I felt in good hands from our first conversation. She is very professional and friendly. I promise you won’t be disappointed in this young ladies knowledge of horses. I’m a older gentleman that grew up with horses and she impressed me. Diamonds and Twine Equine will be my only choice for training as I know my horse is in the best hands.
